Default ATS tournament - ETA?

Hey everyone,

I'm not quite sure if this is the right way to post about it but hell... here goes

As stated in the "I'm bored" topic in this sub-forum http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10150392, I also lost interest in hard mode lately. I turned onto the hero battles a while ago and I am eagerly awaiting ATS. I'm top 700 atm, so I really expect a lot of these automated tournaments...

I've been following this feature and as far as I know, they were finishing testing ATS gvg, and two weeks ago it was ATS hvh...

So does anyone (or ANet) knows any information about it? Like ETA, or what kinda tournament prizes?

Yours,

Lyra

Zee oh em gee! Lyra has two accounts!

But seriously, ANet has kinda kept us in the dark about the tournaments, etc. Unless there's something I missed, in which case someone here will happily fill you in.

Lol, I think you are confusing me with someone else on the forums . Although you could say that I'm pretty new to these forums, I'm with GW from the early start (less than a month for my second birthday miniature ).
Gimme gimme ATS

Ya, there's a renowned poster on the forums known as lyra_song. It's just a little joke, no problem.

Hey i only have one account o.o; the ign lyra song has been taken by someone else anyway.....i didnt know i was renowed, i thought i was loud and obnoxious. >.>

*cough*

On topic, the ATS system is really the first time ive seen Anet allow the community to see a new feature in such a raw state. The other features like storage upgrades and HM have had months in testing before they even hinted it to the public, so judging from that alone, you can expect a wait before these are implemented into the live server

first it was in january.
then it was at the end of the filler lame celestial tournament.
then it was after a bit of closed beta.

now... what?? 5 months of delay seem more than enough to me.

especially considering that we're gone through 2 "fun tournament" already, and that Gvg players have absolutely nothing to play for, right now.

The last competitive article stated that the first tournament season would begin May 1st. So, there's no reason to suspect a delay until tomorrow rolls around, and we haven't heard anything yet.

That's exactly what I was thinking this evening... But in my country, tomorrow May 1st, is a celebration day where nobody has to work. I don't know if ANet will be doing the same...

ANet should be on top of things, since the United States doesn't celebrate Labor Day until September.

http://www.guildwars.com/competitive...mpetitive3.php

"Starting in May 2007, our new, automated tournaments will provide players and guilds the opportunity to qualify for exciting monthly championships where over $10,000 worth of prizes are awarded to the winners."

That, translated from Anet languages, should mean 28th of May, and effectively starting in June

And when, tomorrow at Noon, you find that this comment is completely wrong, will you be back to say "Sorry for my hasty judgment?"

With Anet's current track record, can you blame him for being justifiably hasty?

How is it a hasty judgement? You've never managed to keep a schedule, so expecting you to miss another target isn't exactly unfair...
